Innovating Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow.
Sustainability here at Rwenzori Process Private Limited is not just a practice, it is a way of being. Being an SGS ISO 9001:2015 company, we are committed to ensuring maximum standards in terms of environment conservation, quality, and efficiency in operations. Our recycling services aim at reducing environmental footprints as we promote a circular economy that benefits business, society as a whole, and also the environment.
As part of advancing our environmental ambitions, we also requested the Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification. This internationally accepted standard requires that all of our products which are recycled will be sourced in an ethical way that is traceable and fulfills rigorous green and societal standards from raw material to delivery. Being certified in GRS will enhance our transparency, accountability, and commitment to ethical production.
Also, we are closely associated with RecyClass, a prominent EU initiative that fosters recyclability and traceability in the plastic packaging industry. By embracing RecyClass principles, we stand poised to be compliant with global packaging standards in the near future and to join the development of genuinely sustainable plastic use in industries.
We believe recycling equals a cleaner world, reduced carbon footprints, and less waste of precious natural materials. This is how our efforts make a positive difference towards a sustainable future:
By recycling PET waste into rPET goods, we lower greenhouse gas emissions by as much as 75 percent compared to making polyester conventionally—furthering the fight against climate change with every production batch.
Our rPET process does away with the necessity for extracting crude oil, lessening reliance on non-renewable resources and facilitating a more sustainable industrial ecosystem.
Recycling operations at Rwenzori utilize as much as 20% less water than virgin polyester production, conserving an important resource on our planet.
The production of rPET uses 60% less energy than making virgin fibers, markedly reducing overall energy needs and environmental load.
While recycling rates globally remain worryingly low, we’re committed to growing plastic recovery—more waste gets reused and less contributes to our oceans or landfills.
Every 1 ton of PET recycled saves approximately 5.7 square meters of landfill area, directly reducing land pollution and contributing to healthier urban and rural environments.
