We, Rwenzori Process Private Limited, are a PET recycling company and work to turn post-consumer PET waste into high value resources and thus contribute to the circular economy. Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is a common plastic used in many consumer goods such as food and drink containers. It is part of our ethos that waste PET should not be landfilled but instead, be recycled and reintroduced in a production chain in an industrial context.
The consumption of plastic bottles and packaging materials is across the world, which leads to the need for a strong waste management system, hence PET recycling plays an important role in turning post-consumer PET waste into valuable resources that can be used in the manufacturing of a variety of products.
We start the PET recycling process at Rwenzori Process Private Limited by collecting and sorting post-consumer PET bottles and packaging. PET waste is then sorted to remove non-PET and contaminated materials.
The sorted PET is cleaned, washed and processed into flakes using high-end recycling technology. These used flakes have a new life as a valuable raw material for many sectors. We take it home to adhere to the high-quality recycling standards to deliver high quality recycled material as well as reduce environmental footprints.
Each bottle of PET that is recycled results in less virgin plastic consumption, less petroleum consumption as well as decreased CO2 emission.
